At TechMate, we take pride in delivering professional construction services with honesty, clarity, and accountability. These Terms and Conditions outline how we work, what you can expect from us, and your responsibilities as a client. By signing a contract with us, you agree to these terms.
1. Scope of Work
All work we provide will be clearly described in the project contract. This includes project details, timelines, materials, and labour. Any work not listed is not included in the contract price unless we both agree in writing to add it. We do not provide renovation services.
2. Quotes and Pricing
All pricing is based on the agreed project scope. If changes are made, costs may increase or decrease. A formal change order must be signed before we carry out any additional work. Estimates are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.
3. Payment Terms
Payment schedules are outlined in your contract. A deposit is required to begin work. We may hold back a portion of the payment as per the Construction Act or other applicable provincial laws. Late payments may result in delays or interest charges.
4. Project Timeline
We aim to complete projects on time, but delays can happen. Weather, permit issues, material shortages, or unforeseen site conditions may impact the schedule. If that happens, we’ll communicate clearly and adjust timelines fairly.
5. Site Access and Responsibility
Clients must ensure safe access to the job site. Any delays caused by restricted access, unsafe conditions, or other obstacles may affect the schedule and cost.
6. Permits and Inspections
We can assist with permits and inspections if requested. However, unless stated in the contract, clients are responsible for obtaining and paying for all required permits, inspections, and approvals.
7. Insurance and Liability
TechMate carries general liability insurance for all work we perform. We are not liable for any damage caused by third-party contractors, acts of nature, or pre-existing conditions on site.
8. Warranty
We stand behind our work. Structural work is covered by a one-year workmanship warranty unless otherwise specified. Material warranties are subject to the manufacturer’s terms.
9. Termination of Contract
Either party may terminate the contract with written notice. If you cancel before work begins, you may be responsible for any costs we’ve already incurred. If we cancel, we will refund any unused funds fairly.
